David D. Hartgrave, 80, of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, Jan. 11, 2016, at his home following a short battle with kidney cancer. Services: 11 a.m. Saturday at Teahen Funeral Home. Burial: Mount Calvary Cemetery at a later date. Friends may visit with the family on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home and after 10 a.m. on Saturday.
David is survived by his three sons, Daniel, Douglas and Dennis (Tammy), all of Cedar Rapids; two stepdaughters, Molly (Cuong) Ngyuen of Kissimmee, Fla., and Marna Trcka of Cedar Rapids; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother, Elmer (Mary) Hartgrave of Cedar Rapids; sister, Donna (Stan) Hepker of Center Point; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Alberta; second wife, Jean; and his parents.
David Dean was born July 9, 1935, in Williamsburg, the son of Donald and Emily Reihman Hartgrave. David retired from the U.S. Army after serving for 20 years. He then worked at Wilson's Foods until its closing in 1984.
He will be missed by many.
