David F. Douglas, 82, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2023.
A memorial gathering will be held from 1:00-4:00 pm Sunday, October 15, 2023, at the Cedar Memorial Chapel Stateroom. A memorial service celebrating David’s life will be held at 10:30 am Monday, October 16, 2023, at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories with inurnment following in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Judy; children, Kim (Joel) Hendrickson of Marion, Scott (Sue) Douglas of Cedar Rapids, Kristen (Rick) Ransom of Van Horne; 7 grandchildren, Jennifer (Dan), Kyle (Kaelynn), Jackie (Alex), Ben, Matt (Lauren), Ryan (Chelsey) and Allison; 9 great grandchildren; Sisters-in-law, Susie Olson and Barbara Cray, both of Cedar Rapids.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Ronald Olson.
David Fredrick Douglas was born May 26, 1941, in Cedar Rapids, the son of William and LaVada (Mendenhall) Douglas. On November 12, 1960, he married Judy Cray in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. David worked as a supervisor at Rockwell Collins for many years. He was a member of Grace Episcopal Church, Cedar Rapids, and spent many years boating with Judy and his family on the Mississippi river at Guttenberg. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.
