David Allan Davis
Cedar Rapids
It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of David Allan Davis on June 22, 2024.
David was born on November 12, 1966 and grew up in Mount Morris, Illinois. As a student, David excelled in sports, playing baseball, football, basketball, track, and wrestling. He was an avid reader, especially of history, and was musically talented, playing the trumpet and singing. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, and he was active in the church from a young age.
David moved to Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where he married Amy Kathleen Stiles 1993 and celebrated the birth of their daughter Madelyn Rose Davis in 1999.
Fatherhood brought David his greatest joy. He cherished every moment with his daughter, remaining actively involved in her life. Some of his fondest memories include Madelyn’s dance recitals with the Cedar Rapids Performance Company, where he could be found in the sound booth or on-stage dancing alongside her.
David will be remembered for his love of sports, history, music, and, above all, his devotion to his family and faith. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life will be held July 29th at Stonebridge Church with the visitation at 10am, service at 11am, and lunch following.
