Funeral services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 31, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Mount Vernon, by the Rev. Sean Hansen. Burial: Oakland Cemetery, Manchester.
Dave was born April 29, 1949, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Earl and Marie (Connolly) Aldrich. He graduated from Maquoketa Valley High School in 1967 and married his high school sweetheart, Linda Glanz, on Dec. 10, 1967. Dave started his career at Bradco in 1968 and remained loyal to the company for 48 years through many ownership changes. His career with Paladin Attachments took him on travels around the world and he developed many strong friendships with those he met along the way.
Dave enjoyed spending his winters in Florida, traveling with his wife, Linda, watching his grandkids play sports, and eating ice cream. Dave especially enjoyed the outdoors and found great joy in sharing his love of hunting with his son, and as time progressed, with his sons-in-law and grandsons.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Linda; son, Randy (Wendy) Aldrich; daughter, Jill (Tim) Wegmann; daughter, Kristin (Stephen) Ossenkop; grandchildren, Jacob and Owen Aldrich, Zach and Spencer Wegmann and Noelle and Jack Ossenkop; sister, Karen (Richard) Cole; brother, Delbert (Diane) Aldrich; a niece and five nephews.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the University of Iowa Cancer Center, Dr. Furqan, Mary Ellen Marchik, Dr. Allen, Iowa City Hospice and Griswold Home Health Care for exceptional care through Dave's courageous battle and support through his final days.
Memorials may be directed to Iowa City Hospice.
