David A. “Shorty” Pratt, 89, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away Friday, Jan. 27, 2023, at Crestridge Care Center in Maquoketa, Iowa. The family will host a Celebration of Life at a later date. Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, assisted the family.
David was born Jan. 26, 1934, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of David L. and Agnes (Groat) Pratt. He graduated from Wilson High School and worked for The Gazette in distribution. David honorably served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean conflict. He was loved and will be dearly missed.
Survivors include his children, Tim (Terri) Pratt, Steve (Teresa) Pratt and Elaine Haber; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and sister, Chrysann Kempainen.
David was preceded in death by his parents, David and Agnes; and sister, Joy Isaak.
