DAVID A. “DAVE” BIANCUZZO
Iowa City
David A. "Dave" Biancuzzo, 46, died unexpectedly Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2021, at his home.
David Allen Biancuzzo was born May 15, 1975, in Milwaukee, Wis. He was the loving and caring son of Carl and Alyce "Candy" (Herr) Biancuzzo. Dave attended schools and graduated high school in Whitefish Bay, Wis. He then attended The University of Iowa Tippie College of Business, majoring in Finance with special emphasis on Entrepreneurship.
During his all too short busy life Dave developed and managed a career in commercial and investment real estate. He was affiliated with Coldwell Banker Real Estate Professionals in Iowa City for over 16 years during which time he obtained his commercial real estate broker license.
Dave's other professional achievements and affiliations include being a former President of the Iowa City Area Association of Realtors, having also served there on all executive positions and on the board of directors. Dave was the 2013 recipient of the ICAAR President's Merit Award. He was a 2008 Iowa City Chamber of Commerce Leadership Program graduate. Dave enjoyed his past service as a member of the board of directors of the Iowa Chapter Housing Corporation of the Delta Chi Fraternity. He was a former President of the Iowa City West High Club West Booster Club. He also served on the boards of the Iowa City Booster Club and Good Shepherd Center Pre-School in Iowa City.
Dave enjoyed and worked hard in his career, but he also lived life with zest and passion. His family, especially his two sons, brought him so much love and joy. As their very proud dad, he coached them in football and basketball, and especially baseball. The family enjoyed many vacations, outings, fishing and golfing together.
Dave was a sports fan at all levels. He was a Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Bucks, Milwaukee Brewers and Iowa Hawkeyes fan. He also loved to cook and enjoyed reading and fishing. He caught over 60 different species of fish, the largest of which was an 8-foot nurse shark in the Gulf of Mexico. He also had a wonderful sense of humor which was uniquely "Dave."
His family includes his two sons, Nick and Lucas; their mother, Hillary Biancuzzo; his parents, Carl and Candy Biancuzzo; and his brother, Carl Biancuzzo Jr. "CJ" and his wife, Heather and their children, Olivia, Gabriella and Dominic. He will also be sadly missed by his loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
To honor Dave and his life, visitation will take place at the First United Methodist Church in Iowa City on Saturday, Jan. 15, 2022, from 10 a.m. to noon with church services, camaraderie and hospitality immediately following.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Dave's name may be made to Dave's Boys Scholarship Fund, care of MidWestOne Bank, 110 First Ave, Coralville, IA 52241; First United Methodist Church of Iowa City; or the University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital.
