Dautremont, Larry J.
Larry J. Dautremont, 63, of Lone Tree, died peacefully Sunday, Jan. 23, 2011, at his home surrounded by his family. To honor his memory, a celebration of his life will be held at noon Saturday, Jan. 29, at the Lone Tree American Legion. Following the services, full military rites will be provided by the Lone Tree American Legion Post 457. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Lone Tree American Legion.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in memory of Larry.

Larry Joe Dautremont was born on Jan. 14, 1948, in Washington, Iowa, the son of Clement and Lorena (Kron) Dautremont. Larry was a 1966 graduate of Highland High School. Larry served with the United States Army during Vietnam. On August 17, 1991, Larry was united in marriage to Marilyn Horrabin in Iowa City. Larry was the owner and operator of Lone Tree Auto and Welding from 1975 to 1988, and then worked for REC from 1989 to 1998 in member service. Larry was a member of the Lone Tree American Legion Post 457, serving as chaplain, was a past president of the Lone Tree Chamber of Commerce and volunteered his time as a Reading Buddy for the Lone Tree Community School. He enjoyed watching old westerns, camping, playing cards, listening to Elvis, spending time with his grandchildren but most of all, cruising with the love of his life in his restored '67 Camaro convertible.
Larry will be deeply missed by his wife, Marilyn of Lone Tree; his children, Yancey Dautremont and wife Stephanie and their children, Kayla and Alexandria of Lone Tree, Carisa Bishop and her husband, Doug and their children, Ben and Sam of Iowa City, Megan Dotson and her husband, Jeremy and their children Jacob and Jenna of Lone Tree, and Corey Smothers and her fiance, Joey King of Boise, Idaho; one brother, Ron Dautremont and his wife, Kathy of Iowa City; and two sisters-in-law, Carole Eldeen of Iowa City and Judi Glasgow and her husband, Harry Butaud, of Barry, Texas.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Dennis Dautremont.
