A celebration of life for Daryl W. Oldfield, 94, of Wellman, who died Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at the
Washington County Hos-pital, will be 10 a.m. Saturday, June 21, at Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona. Burial will follow in Wellman Public Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, June 20, at the funeral home.
A memorial fund has been established for Wellman Ambulance.
Daryl Wayne Oldfield was born Jan. 24, 1920, in Wellman, Iowa, the son of Carl Rickey and Alice Maria (Jones) Oldfield. He graduated from Wellman High School in 1938. Daryl worked in many occupations throughout his life, including farmer, car and implement dealership owner, insurance agent and real estate agent.
He was a member of Dayton Masonic Lodge of Wellman and KAABA Shrine Temple of Davenport. He enjoyed fishing, playing in pepper tournaments and spending time with his family and friends in the Wellman community.
Survivors include three sons, Alan (Joy) Oldfield of Cedar Rapids, Duane (Barb) Oldfield of Iowa City and Rick Jirsa of Iowa City; and four grandchildren, Erin and Andrea Oldfield and Justin and Jessie Oldfield.
Preceding Daryl in death were his parents and one sister, Fern Bishop.
