Daryl D. Annis, 79, of Troy Mills, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2018, at his home. The family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 17, at Troy Mills Christian Church, Troy Mills. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, at the church, conducted by the Rev. Don McGarvey. Burial will take place at Troy Mills Cemetery, Troy Mills. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point.
Daryl was born July 14, 1939, in Troy Mills, Iowa, the son of Ross and Sarah (Price) Annis. On June 29, 1958, at Troy Mills Christian Church, he was united in marriage to Karen Oliphant. Daryl was a longtime employee of Cedar Rapids Inc. He was an avid Cubs fan and also enjoyed hunting and fishing. Daryl was a friend to everyone he met. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Karen of Troy Mills; four children, Greg (Marty) Annis of Vinton, Teresa Annis of Vinton, Brad (Karen) Annis of Cedar Rapids and Jamie Annis of Cedar Rapids; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; his siblings, Joan (Norman) McGraw of Coggon and Harold (JoAnn) Annis of Troy Mills; and two brothers-in-law, Gary (Brenda) Oliphant of Urbandale and Gary Viter of Mount Vernon.
Daryl was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Jessica; and sister-in-law, LeAnn Viter.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Troy Mills Christian Church or Camp Courageous.
