Darryl Dale Grimm, 80, died Friday, March 10, 2017, at Marengo Memorial Hospital.
Darryl was born Feb. 13, 1937, in Montezuma, Iowa, the son of Raymond and Verna Rose (Brannian) Grimm. He graduated from Millersburg High School in 1955. He served in the National Guard from 1955 to 1963. On Jan. 4, 1964, Darryl was united in marriage to Peggy Joyce Moore at White Oak Church, Thornburg. He was a lifelong resident and farmer of the Millersburg area.
Darryl was a member of Community Church, Millersburg. He enjoyed farming, gardening, tractor rides, and watching the Cubs, Hawkeyes and Cyclones and his grandchildren's activities. He also enjoyed watching over the cows during calving season.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy of Millersburg; three children, Scott Grimm (Sherry Caskey) of Millersburg, Sandy (Steve) Brune of Shueyville and Tim (Kim) Grimm of Millersburg; and four grandchildren, Ashlee (Weston) Widmer, Nick Brune, Meghan Brune and A.J. Grimm.
Celebration of Life service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 14, at Community Church, rural Millersburg. Burial will be in Community Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Powell Funeral Home, North English.
A general memorial fund has been established.
