Darren Patrick Olson, 52, of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 30, 2021.
A visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 5, at Cedar Memorial Park Stateroom.
A funeral Mass will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, at St. Ludmila Catholic Church, Officiated
by the Rev. Ken Glaser.
Burial will take place at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
Darren was born on Jan. 25, 1969, in Muscatine, Iowa, the son of Peter and Judith "Trask" Olson.
Darren went on to work for Windstream as a communications engineer.
Darren had many passions in life, he loved to ride his Harley Motorcycle. He loved to listen to music and go to the cabin. Darren was very active and always looking towards his next project. Darren was always smiling. He was one of the kindest men, always willing to help. Darren loved to cook, but his greatest passion in life was time with family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
Darren is survived and lovingly remembered by his fiancee, DeAnn Wilford; his daughter, Ashley (Josh) Olson; his son, Brandon ( Shelby) Olson; his mother, Judith Trask; his brother, Steve (Lilian) Olson; and his fur babies, Bailey, Estrella and Ascari.
Darren was preceded in death by his father, Peter Olson; and his grandparents, Clearance and Beryl Trask.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the family.
