DARLENE ROSE RINDERKNECHT

Darlene Rose Rinderknecht, 77, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, left this life to be with the Lord on Jan. 16, 2018, following a battle with pneumonia at St. Luke's Hospital. A memorial service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church on Saturday, Jan 27, at 11 a.m., with visitation at 10 a.m. Committal will be held at a later date.
Darlene was born on Oct. 24, 1940, to Clarence and Esther Rinderknecht. She graduated from Jefferson High School, after which she worked at Kosek's Dime Store in Czech Village. Other employment included Younkers, Jack's Store, Shopko and Walmart.
After her mom and dad were gone, she lived in Linwood Apartments until she moved to Heritage Nursing Home.
She is survived by her brother, Duane Rinderknecht (Dorothy), and numerous other relatives and friends.
In her early years, Darlene loved to travel with her parents and enjoyed bowling. She also enjoyed assembling puzzles and playing dice and card games. She especially loved her pets.
Her friends all describe her as kind, gentle, patient and treating all with equal respect. She will be missed.
