DARLENE MARY (KRAMER) MANTZ

Darlene Mary (Kramer) Mantz, 87, of Keystone, passed away peacefully at her home Jan. 6, 2017, following a battle with cancer.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 9, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Luzerne, with the Rev. Dean Duncan officiating. Burial will take place in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Luzerne. Visitation is from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 8, at the church and will continue one hour before the service.

Darlene was born Nov. 27, 1929, on the family farm near Luzerne to Arthur William Joseph and Helen Arlene (Johnson) Kramer. She graduated from Belle Plaine High School in 1947. On Sept. 10, 1950, she married Henry Howard Mantz at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, where Darlene had been a lifelong member and was active in the Ladies Aid. Early in her marriage, Darlene worked at Citizens State Bank in Belle Plaine, then leaving to farm with her husband and together raise their four children. She took care of the animals and loved being outdoors.
Darlene is survived by her husband, Henry; children, Linda Kay (Ed) Wheeler of Mount Vernon, Ill., Larry Ray (Lynn) of Luzerne, and Brian Keith (Kim) and Craig William (Julie), both of Belle Plaine; grandchildren, Rachel (Darric) McLeod, Abbi (Jon) Garling, Brandi (Matt) Delveau, Brandon Mantz and Kenzie Mantz; great-grandchildren, Coralou, Adley and Kaylin McLeod, Andie and Olive Garling, and Charlie Delveau; and sister-in-law, Evelyn Kramer.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Lowell (Pat) and Dean Kramer.
The family would like to thank UnityPoint Hospice, Eddie Marie Goodwin and Synergy Home Heath and Stacy DeFauw for all of their care and support.
