Darlene L. Beck, 85, of Hiawatha, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, at Terrace Glen Nursing Home. A visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 12, at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, with a service beginning at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Shiloh Cemetery in Hiawatha.
Darlene was born July 7, 1937, to Folmer and Leona (Carl) Nielsen in Harlan, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Charles Beck on Oct. 21, 1960, in Omaha, Neb. Darlene was a homemaker her whole life. She enjoyed bowling, sewing and spending time with friends and family.
She is survived by her husband, Charles; son, Michael (Jodi) of Center Point; two grandchildren, Tyler Beck and Ashlee (Justin) Wyant, both of Center Point; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Darlene was preceded in death by her parents; and her brothers, Ronald and Gene Nielsen.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the family.
