Darleen Rose (Comried) Jurgemeyer, 89, went to heaven on Sunday, Aug. 16, 2015, surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services: 1 p.m. Thursday at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. There will be a visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home, 4200 First Ave. NE. A private inurnment service will be held Monday, Aug. 24, at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors include seven daughters, Sue Heath of Cedar Rapids, Carol Kauffman of Dexter, Mich., Diane Neal of Cedar Rapids, Pat Ator of Marion, Liz ( Marc) Nelson of Cedar Rapids, Vicki (Tarry) Thein of Mechanicsville and Donna (Paul Sr.) Neal of Cedar Rapids; also numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Darleen was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Mary Comried; and three brothers, Raymond, Arlie and Glen.
Darleen was born Sept. 7, 1925, and was a lifelong resident of Cedar Rapids. She took great pride being employed at St. Luke's Hospital as a physical therapy technician for several years until she retired. She enjoyed crocheting, collecting dolls and music boxes, angels, cardinals, fishing, crossword puzzles, bingo and Yahtzee, music, dancing and garage saling. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family.
