Darla Ann Calvert, 55, of What Cheer, died at home Thursday, June 11, 2015.
Darla was born June 23, 1959. in Winterset, Iowa, to Loren and Ilo Mae Utterback. She was united in marriage to Frank Jay Calvert on June 1, 1991, at What Cheer Christian Church.
For much of her life, Darla was a homemaker. She enjoyed collecting antiques, collecting rocks for her rock garden, and playing cards with family and friends. She loved spending time with and spoiling her grandchildren.
Darla is survived by her husband, Frank; her daughter, Shanna Gordon (Brian VanWeelden) of New Sharon; her son, Matt Yerington of What Cheer; grandchildren, Keaton, Jadelyn, Katie, Jace and Sam; her brother, Dennis Utterback of Des Moines; and her sisters, Denise (Steve) Farrell of Ankeny and Danita of Oskaloosa.
Darla was preceded in death by her dad, Loren, and her mom, Ilo Mae.
A graveside service will be 1 p.m. June 20 at Tioga Cemetery, east of Rose Hill. A get-together will be held at the Disciple Church, 107 East Broadway, after the service.
