Danskin, K. Joyce
K. Joyce Danskin, 89, of Marengo, died Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2009, at the Marengo Memorial Hospital following an extended illness. Memorial Services: 11 a.m. Thursday at Trinity United Church of Christ in rural Marengo, with the Rev. Bev Thompson-Travis officiating. Inurnment will be in Green Acres Cemetery, Scottsdale, Ariz. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo.
Memorials may be contributed to Trinity United Church of Christ.
Joyce is survived by a son, Daniel Danskin of Phoenix, Ariz. and a granddaughter Karen Danskin.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1994; and a sister, Betty Jane Burm.
Kathleen Joyce Burm was born Aug. 6, 1920, in Centralia, Ill., the daughter of Louis J. and Nancy VanDee Burm. She graduated from Lake Forest High School, Lake Forest, Ill. in 1940 and attended Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill. for 2 years. She married Clyde Danskin on June 27, 1941, in Lake Forest. The couple resided in Des Moines for a short time, then moved to the Marengo area to farm with Clyde's parents. Following Clyde's death on Oct. 3, 1994, Joyce moved into Marengo. Joyce was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, rural Marengo.
