Danny Christensen, 69, of Marion, passed away Friday, July 12, 2024, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha. Celebration of Life Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 18, 2024, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre, located at 2121 Bowling Street in Cedar Rapids. Friends may visit with the family after 9 a.m. Thursday, prior to the service. Burial will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Dan was born on December 1, 1954, in Lake Preston, South Dakota, the son of Arden Eugene and Lois Jane (Randall) Christensen.
Dan worked for Universal Engineering before spending over ten years at B&H Tank as a painter and welder. Dan was an avid Hawkeye fan and enjoyed watching a variety of sports, with football and wrestling being his favorites. He also enjoyed watching Westerns, especially those with John Wayne. He was incredibly proud of his family, especially his grandchildren.
Dan is survived by his wife Vicki; children Angela Conrad Christensen, Dale (Megan) Christensen, and five grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his brother Dale, sister Debra Parks, and several other close relatives.
