Daniel Rhiner, 60, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of West Des Moines, died from cancer July 3, 2018, at Mercy Hospice in Hiawatha. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, July 7, 2018, at McLaren's Chapel in West Des Moines, with burial at Resthaven Cemetery. Visitation will be
from 10 a.m. until service time at McLaren's. Daniel was a huge Iowa Hawkeyes fan and the family requests everyone to dress in Hawkeyes or casual attire.
Daniel was born Sept. 26, 1957, in Des Moines and graduated from Ruby Van Meter High School. Daniel worked at Easter Seals, Link Associates and Goodwill in Cedar Rapids.
He is survived by two siblings, Timothy and Laurie Rhiner of Des Moines; aunt/caregiver, Judy Linn of Cedar Rapids; aunts, Pam (Don) Paul of Des Moines, Sandra Rhiner of Norwalk and Peggy Lanscak of West Des Moines; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Daniel was preceded in death by his mother, Linda Rhiner Rawson; father, Don Rhiner; grandparents, Roy and Iola Rhiner, Charlotte Morrison Weakley and Sam Morrison; baby brother, Steven Rhiner; and stepfather, Oscar Rawson.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Goodwill of Eastern Iowa.
