Daniel A. "Dan" Drews, 25, of Iowa City, died Sunday, June 18, 2017, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics of an accidental overdose. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 4330 St. Patrick's Dr., Iowa City. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery
in Iowa City. Visitation will be held from
4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the church.
Instead of flowers and plants, memorials may be directed to the Abbey Addiction Treatment Center in Bettendorf.
Dan was born Feb. 18, 1992, in Iowa City, the son of Tom and Jane (Jahnke) Drews. He was a 2010 graduate of Iowa City High School.
Survivors include his parents, Tom and Jane Drews of Iowa City; his sisters, Sarah Rogers (Thaddeus) and their daughter, Sophia, of Tiffin, and Emily Drews of North Liberty; grandparents, Judy (Herb) Herrly of Hot Springs Village, Ark., Judy Jahnke of Solon and Ruth Drews of Clinton; girlfriend, Dori Ohland of Des Moines; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Dan was preceded in death by two grandfathers, Dan Jahnke and Verne Drews; and an uncle, Roger Drews.
