Daniel J. Chelf, 50, died Wednesday, March 16, 2016, in Gulf Shores, Ala.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, March 22, at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church. Visitation will be Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at St. Patrick's Parish Hall. Burial, with military rites, will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the Daniel Chelf Memorial Fund has been established.
Survivors include his wife, Jan, and their three daughters, Danielle, Megan and Kaitlyn, all of Iowa City; his parents, Ltc. (Ret.) Kenneth and Carolyn (Wombacher) Chelf; siblings, Chris, Phil, Jeff and Kelly; mother-in-law, Mary Joan Streb of Iowa City; and brothers- and sisters-in-law, Alene, Dave, Karen, Kathy, Mike, Steve and Shelly.
