Daniel Beyer, 72, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2023, at home. Private family services will take place at a later date. Dan will be heading back to Pismo Beach, Calif. Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids, is caring for the family.
Survivors include his daughters, Amanda Beyer of Cedar Rapids and Ellen Beyer of Westminster, Colo.; granddaughter, Miah Kroll; and siblings, Cathy, Connie, Karen, Bobby and Lori.
Daniel Christopher was born to Dale and Gwendolyn (Johnson) Beyer on Dec. 3, 1950, in Illinois. He served in the Army Air Force, Navy, and Air Force before his retirement.
He was a giver. Dan’s love of music of all genres, especially alternate music, made him happy. Dan was a regular reader of the Bible and wore his Rosary, praying for everyone he met. He was passionate about recycling, especially old books, and would give the shirt off his back to anyone who needed it. Basically, he was pretty cool.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and four siblings.
