Danette R. Potter, 73, of Anamosa, passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2022. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 23, 2022, 10 a.m., at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories.
Danette Ruth Barta was born on Aug. 5, 1948, in Cedar Rapids to Lester and Ruth (Goodman) Barta. She was united in marriage to Gary Potter in 1972. She and Gary later divorced but the two remained good friends. Danette was employed at Lefebure Electronics and Rockwell Collins, where she retired from in 2015.
Danette was a fun loving person who enjoyed flowers and gardening, and cake and cookie decorating. She had a deep love of animals and adored her grandchildren.
Left to cherish Danette’s memory are her daughters, Dana Potter and Darcy (David) Sunlin; grandchildren, Kelsey Potter, Olivia Sunlin, Alaina Sunlin and Marcus Sunlin; great-grandchildren, Ella, Barrett and Rose; and extended family, Lonnie, Lisa and Lori.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Danette’s family would like to extend a special thank-you to the wonderful staff at Pinicon Place in Anamosa for their exceptional care.
