Dana Patrick Anson, 72, of Marion, Iowa, passed away Friday, Dec. 14, 2018. Visitation: 9 to 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 17, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion. Memorial Service: 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Dana was born March 21, 1946, in Fresno, Calif., the son of Robert and Hope (Simpson) Anson. He graduated from Marshalltown High School and went on to further his education at the University of Iowa. Dana served honorably in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. On Jan. 17, 1970, he was united in marriage to Dorothy Ann Daluze. Dana worked for Rockwell Collins, BF Goodrich and Simons Precision. Dana was a faithful member of Ducks Unlimited. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and golfer. Dana's greatest joy was being a loving father and grandfather.
Dana is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Dorothy of Marion; daughters, Kristen (Cole) Bouchett of California and Tara (Brian) Barnard of Iowa; son, Ryan Anson of Colorado; six grandchildren, Brooklinn Anson of California, Chase, Collin, and Colton Barnard of Iowa, Brandon and Nicole Bouchett of California; sister, Kim (Pat) Troubridge of Oklahoma; brothers, Bob (Teri) Anson of Iowa and Greg (Linda) Anson of Oklahoma; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Hope Anson.
