DAN "THE MAN" MCDANNEL

Dan "The Man" McDannel, 68, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Aug. 30, 2017, of natural causes.
Survivors include a daughter, Shawna Mahoney of Springville; three grandchildren; and a sister, Susan Cursons of Eastend, Saskatchewan, Canada.
He was a proud father and grandfather who enjoyed the simple life in his retirement.
He loved the Hawkeyes, nature watching, completing small projects and occasional fun at the local casinos.
"Let me live in a house by the side of the road where the race of men go by. The men who are good and the men who are bad, as good and as bad as I. I would not sit in the scorners seat, nor hurl the cynics ban. Let me live in a house by the side of the road and be a friend to man."
A Celebration of Life will be at a later date.
