Damon Matthew Meyer,
43, formerly of Ely and Cedar Rapids, died suddenly on
Nov. 11, 2017, in Quincy, Mass. A Celebration of Life gathering for Damon will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 25, at The Avacentre at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, where the family will greet friends from 1 to 3 p.m. A special time of reflection and sharing will start at 3 p.m. A private family inurnment will be in Hala Cemetery near Walford.
Damon was born April 29, 1974, in Jefferson, the son of Steve and Michele (Gross) Meyer. He attended Prairie High School and later graduated from Solon High School, Class of 1992.
Damon was the proud father of Laurdyn and Braylon. He also is survived by his family, which includes his sister, Kara (Marc) Leonard of Amana; his niece, Avery, and nephew, Beau; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Damon was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
