Dallas Paul Robertson was born July 23, 1956, to Donald and Ellen (Huffer) Robertson. He graduated from Iowa City West High School and then entered the U.S. Navy. Dallas served in the Navy from 1975 to 1979 before being honorably discharged. He worked for several years at Foster Maytag before becoming employed at the University of Iowa in residence services maintenance. Dallas was currently employed in facilities maintenance for the University of Iowa.
Dallas was united in marriage to Carole Denise Nortmann on June 20, 1981. They were blessed with two sons, Travis and Morgan.
Dallas was well known for his passion for running. Even those who didn't know Dallas would see his familiar face running about Iowa City. Dallas was as reliable as the postal service, running both to and from work almost everyday for the last four decades.
But the things Dallas loved even more than running were his two grandchildren: Tristan and Abigail. Dallas adored every minute he spent with them and found great joy in buying gifts for them.
Dallas is survived by his wife of 40 years, Carole; their sons, Travis (Karen) Robertson and Morgan Robertson; two grandchildren, Tristan and Abigail Robertson; a brother, David (Cindy) Robertson; sisters-in-law, Karen Robertson, Chris (Pete) McAllister, Deb (Steve) Tyer and Laurie Smathers (Rob Journey); and several nieces and nephews.
Dallas was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Doug Robertson; and his sister, Diana Robertson.
