Dalecky, Richard Alan
Richard Alan Dalecky, 64, of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, May 30, 2011, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 3, at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling St. SW. Burial will follow in Czech National Cemetery, where full military rites will be conducted. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids.
Richard was born Sept. 11, 1946, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Stanley and Anne (Sexton) Dalecky. He graduated from Jefferson High School in 1964. Richard married Joyce Warnke on Sept. 17, 1966. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He worked for Rockwell Collins for over 37 years until his retirement. He was a member of the Fleet Reserves and the American Legion.
Richard is survived by his wife, Joyce; children, Richard “Scott” (Kristen) of Hiawatha, Todd (Christi) of Marion and David (Julie) of Kansas City, Mo.; eight grandchildren, Brandon, Kaitlyn, Taylor, Lauren, Dax, Blake, Alexandria and Ethan; sisters, Barb (Don) Pulkrab of Fairfax and Darlene Johnson of Cedar Rapids; a brother, David (Claire) Dalecky of Reading, Pa.; as well as his numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorials may be directed to SOKOL Gymnastics or to a charity of the donors' choice in Richard's name.
