Dale Wingerson, 73, of Aldie, Va., formerly of Marion, Iowa, died Friday, April 27, 2018. Memorial services were held at Cornerstone Chapel in Leesberg, Va., on May 3.
Dale is survived by his wife, Lela; children, Shane and David; sister, Karen (Wingerson) Smolinski; and grandchildren, Erin, Kelly and Shannon. He was preceded in death by his parents, Phyllis and Wayne.
Dale was born in Omaha, Neb., Douglas County, on June 15, 1944. He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1963, married Lela (Cox) on Oct. 29, 1964, and was married more than 53 years at the time of his passing. After being discharged from the Navy, he worked at Rockwell Collins for 32 years, retiring in 1999. He peacefully departed this life on Friday, April 27, 2018, at The Adler Center for Caring in Aldie, Va., after many years of battling Alzheimer's disease.
