Dale A. Stout, 68, of Vining, passed away Sunday, Oct. 19, 2014, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids. A Celebration of Life will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, at the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Tama. A private interment will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery in Toledo at a future date.
Dale was born March 13, 1946, in Washington County, Iowa, the son of Walter and Audrey (Seeman) Stout. He was married to Linda Neal in 1965 and together they had two children.
On June 23, 1992, he was united in marriage to Janet Rutledge in Las Vegas, Nev. Dale worked for Farmstead in Cedar Rapids and then retired in 2008 from Penford Products in Cedar Rapids. He was currently serving as mayor of Vining. Dale enjoyed bowling, playing Yahtzee on the Wii and going to the casino. He also loved karaoke and playing the guitar. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with the family.
Survivors include his wife, Janet of Vining; one daughter, Robin (Lyle) Clayton of Chelsea; one son, Randy (Dawn) Stout of Cedar Rapids; six grandchildren, Skyler, Drew, Erin and Austin Clayton, Angela Howrey and Dale Boren; four great-grandchildren, Braxton, Adriana, Kaydin and Jordyn; his siblings, Larry Stout of New Jersey, Daryl (Pauline) Stout of Vinton, Gene (Denise) Stout of Cedar Rapids, Connie (Larry) White of Minnesota and Gary (Lisa) Stout of St. Louis, Mo.; many sisters-in-law; brothers-in-law; and nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; one brother, Jerry Stout; and a stepson, Eric Mathes in 1990.
A memorial fund has been established.
Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home, Tama-Toledo, is assisting the family with arrangements.
