Dale Schafer, 72, of Marion, died Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2018. Burial services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 22, at St. John Cemetery, with a celebration of life luncheon to follow at the cemetery.
Survivors include his children, Shannon Schafer, Ryan (Becky) Schafer and Sara (Dale) Boren; brothers, Paul and Joe Schafer; sisters, Cathy Lewis, Jeanne (Chuck) and Coralee (Mike) Seapon; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother and father; sister, Nichi; brother, Carl; brother-in-law, Mark Lewis; and niece, Jennifer Lewis.
Dale was born Sept. 11, 1945. He proudly served his country in the Navy from 1967 to 1970. He was very active, loved the outdoors and chose to live his life by the motto "fair winds and following seas." He also loved spending time with his family.
