Dale N. Collingwood, 82, of Marengo, passed away Monday, June 20, 2022, at Compass Memorial Healthcare. Funeral service: 11 a.m. Friday, June 24, 2022, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Marengo, with the Rev. Andrew Gray officiating. Military honors will be conducted following the service by the Williamsburg VFW. Inurnment will be at a later date. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 23, 2022, at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo. Memorials may be contributed to the Monarchs of Eastern Iowa or Essence of Life Hospice.
Dale is survived by his wife, Iona of Marengo; children, Beverly (Scott) Belzer of Conroy, Debra (Steve) Nelson of Fort Meyers Beach, Fla., Lisa (“Buzz” Kevin) Peterson of Mediapolis, Iowa; Lori (Dave) Shepard of Marengo, Mike (Laury) Timm of Vermillion, Ohio, Jeff (Tami) Timm of Atkins, Kari (Tim) McCaw of Marengo; 17 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Also surviving Dale are two brothers, Lyle (Sherry) Collingwood of Fairfax and Leslie (Rosie) Collingwood of Marengo.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald L. Collingwood and Doris Charlene Bickford Collingwood; his first wife, Marlene in 2008, a great-granddaughter, Kaydence Rein Barker, a brother, Larry Collingwood, and a nephew, Treb Collingwood.
