Dale Paul Lewis, 77, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2019, at Heritage Specialty Care, Cedar Rapids. Dale passed in peace after a 20-year battle with cancer.
Survivors include his children, Cindy (Dick) Brockmeyer, Tammy (Kevin) Jamieson, Tim (Tammy) Lewis and Casey Lewis; six grandchildren, Alisha, Amanda, Stefanie and Spencer Lewis and Hanna and Avery Brockmeyer; three great-grandchildren, Sophia, Legacy and Bentley; sisters, Louise (George) Laughler and Carol Hawkins; and many nieces and nephews.
Dale Paul Lewis was born Jan. 11, 1942, in Cedar Rapids, to Wilbert and Matilda (Deerr) Lewis. He worked as a machinist and welder for many years. Dale married Sue Ann Franks on July 17, 1961. He enjoyed reading, camping, fishing and hunting and watching football, baseball and racing.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sue Ann; a brother; and sister, Betty.
Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society or UnityPoint-St. Luke's Hospice, Cedar Rapids. Burial will be at a later date at the Marengo Cemetery.
