Dale Lenton, 90, of Beaver Dam, Wis., formerly of Marengo, Iowa, passed gently into the hands of Jesus in the care and comfort of Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac, Wis., on July 4, 2014. Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo. Burial with military honors will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Blairstown,
Iowa. The family will receive friends after 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo. A memorial fund has been established.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorothy; brothers, Daniel, Wilbur, Gerald and William; sister, Hilda Brecht; and great-niece, Kaitlyn Mumm.
Dale is survived by his "buddy," Doris Bender; a sister, Charlotte Brecht; a sister-in-law, Julia Lenton; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Dale was "Dad" to Sandy Weier, Deb (Rick) Gempeler, and Suzie (Doug) Fishbaugher; "Grandpa" to Gloria (Don) Linke, Kevin (Jenny) Weier, Ed (Jamie) Tetzlaff, Carrie (Jon) Tetzlaff, Heath (Janelle) Fishbaugher, Holly (Dave) Belongia and Heide (Mike) Belongia; and 18 great-grandchildren.
It brought Dale great joy toward the end of his journey that his Iowa family traveled to Wisconsin to see him. Special thanks to Charlotte, Debra (John) Hadenfeldt, and Jennifer, Ashlyn, and Noah Hadenfeldt. Noah and Ashlyn put a smile on his face that will last through eternity.
