Dale Kraft, 80, of Hiawatha, passed away on Thursday, May 3, 2018, at his home. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 7, at Geilenfeld Funeral Home in Oelwein. Funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 8, at Zion Lutheran Church in Oelwein, with the Rev. Josh Schunk officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Oelwein at a

Dale Jacob Kraft was born in Oelwein on May 31, 1937, to parents George and Mabel (Gerken) Kraft. He graduated from Stanley High School. Following graduation, Dale began working for AMPI in Oelwein and then in Arlington. He later was employed with Carter's Farms in Stanley. On Aug. 21, 1976, he was united in marriage with Pat Perez in Oelwein.
Dale loved riding motorcycles and rode until just a few years ago. He enjoyed mowing his lawn, watching and feeding birds, and fishing. He also enjoyed going out to eat and visiting with family and friends, especially his grandchildren.
Dale is survived by his wife, Pat; his children, Kelly (Joel Pepper) McCarville of Cedar Rapids, Laura Cordes, Cindy Muehlings, Karen Klouse, George Wayne and Steven Kraft; his grandchildren, Austin, Caidan, Madelynn, Ian, Taran and Daigen; as well as many more grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Rodney Wayne; his twin brother, Roy Kraft; and his sister, Dorothy Roberts.
