Dale LeRoy Kisling, age 80, of Cedar Falls died Sunday, December 24, 2023, at Birdee Cottage Assisted Living in Waterloo.
Dale was born on March 3, 1943, in Urbana, Iowa, the son of Carl and Florence (Edmonds) Kisling. He graduated from Urbana High School in the Class of 1961. On April 25, 1964, Dale was united in marriage to Kathryn Sue Meyer at Trinity Lutheran in Vinton, Iowa. He spent the majority of his career in data processing, before opening his own business, D&K Upholstery, in Waterloo in 1989, retiring in 2011. Dale enjoyed serving the community as a Boy Scout Leader, serving in Des Moines, Wilton, and Waterloo. He also served his congregation as a deacon and chairman of Immanuel Lutheran in Cedar Falls.
Dale is survived by: his wife, Kathe of Cedar Falls; two sons, Al (Kelly) Kisling of Parkersburg, and Jeremy (Amie) Kisling of Lexington, KY; a daughter, April (Todd) Winters of Ankeny; his grandchildren, Jon, Chris, Adam, Maddie and Leo Kisling, Mike and Amber Winters, and Macey Berry; great-grandchildren, Audrey and Archer Kisling, and CJ and Liam Valentine; two brothers, Loren (Eva) Kisling of Marion, and Gary (Bev) Kisling of Center Point.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Carl Marvin and Lyle Kisling.
Funeral services will be 11 am Thursday, December 28, 2023, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be from 9:30 am until time of service at church on Thursday.
