Dale Huckins, 79, of Oelwein, passed away Thursday, July 17, 2014, at the Good Neighbor Home
in Manchester after a short illness. His family will greet guests from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 20, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point. A memorial service will be held at Alice Church, Center Point, at a later date.
Survivors include his wife, Bonnie; sister, Lela (Keiffer) Garton; four children, Sandy (Don) Redenbaugh, Bruce (Ronda) Huckins, Robert (Tamara) Huckins and Jenny Penrod; grandchildren, Dan (Kristen) Hines, Ben (Libberty) Hines, Casey (Bryan) Huckins, Travis Huckins, Chloe Huckins, Ron (Abby) Huckins, Amber Huckins, Joshua (Alicia) Huckins, Kaylee (Danny) Penrod and Matthew Penrod; seven great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved cat, Preacher.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents, RR and Eva Huckins; brothers, George and Bill Huckins; and twin sister, Dorothy Harris.
Dale loved his family, going out for coffee, putting together jigsaw puzzles, reading newspapers and taking care of his yard and garden.
