DALE ALLEN HANZLIK
Cedar Rapids
Dale Allen Hanzlik, 73, of Cedar Rapids, died peacefully Friday, Dec. 18, 2020. There will be no services. Teahen Funeral Home is serving the family.
Dale is survived by his three sisters, Josephine Page (Denver) of Marion, Bonnie Herman (Eddie) of Ione, Calif., and Vicky Trent of San Diego, Calif.; his many nieces and nephews; and his great-nieces and nephews, all of whom adored him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 30 years, Mary; and four siblings, Edwin "Buzz" Hanzlik (Alice), Martin "Sonny" Hanzlik (Kay), Kenneth "Kenny" Hanzlik (Patti), and Anna Mae McVey (Jack).
Dale was born Sept. 15, 1947, in Cedar Rapids, and was one of eight children of Edvin and Erma Hanzlik. He graduated from Jefferson High School and attended Ellsworth Junior College, where he majored in art. Dale was the owner of D & M Siding and later worked as a salesman and designer for Home Town Restyling, retiring in 2012.
Dale was very artistic and his family enjoyed his paintings. He loved music and singing was his passion, drawing a large fan base singing karaoke at local venues. Dale was the type of person everyone gravitated toward. He was kind, witty, easy-going and charming, and just naturally drew everyone in. He enjoyed horses and learned to ride at a young age, and he was one of few people who could persuade a horse to canter. Dale loved his family and his friends. He will be sorely missed by many.
Memorials may be directed to a charity of your choice in Dale's name.
