Dale Edwin Netz, 94, of Marion, Iowa, passed away at UnityPoint-St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids on Tuesday, July 13, 2021, surrounded by his loving family.
A visitation will be held at the Church of the King on Sunday, July 18, from 1 p.m. until service time at 3 p.m., with the Pastor Chris Slama officiating. Interment with military honors will be held at the Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery-Garden of Eternal Love on Monday, July 19, at 10 a.m.
Dale was born on Jan. 14, 1927, in Kenna, N.M. He was the son of the late Carl and Fannie (Tidquist) Netz. On Sept. 14, 1946, he married Betty Johnson. Dale married his second wife Sally Frederick. Dale served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a Seaman 2nd Class on the USS South Dakota. After his service, Dale worked in construction for many years until his retirement in 1995.
Those left to cherish Dale's memory are his children, Linda (George) Hopkins of Orange, Texas, Peggy Krizek of Fort Worth, Texas, Tracy (Warren) Engelbart of Marion, Iowa, Kelly (Sean) Smith of Loveland, Colo., Larry (Cora) Netz of Central City, Iowa, and Sharon (Douglas) Deklotz of Atkins, Iowa; 26 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Betty; and his second wife, Sally.
Memorial contributions may be made in his name to The Church of the King.
