Dale Robert Doty, 63, of Brooklyn, died Friday, Jan. 30, 2015. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 3, at Kloster Funeral Home, Brooklyn. Private family services will be held at another time.
A memorial fund has been established.
Survivors include sons Stephen (Sandi) of Shellsburg and Kevin (Jesica Miller-Julin) of Grinnell; seven grand-children; his siblings, Ross Doty of Brooklyn, Vivian King of Grinnell, Gladys Palmer of Cedar Rapids, Marvin (Mary) Doty of Grinnell, Joan Foster of Cedar Rapids, Lucille (Richard) King of Warr Acres, Okla., and Kay Dieterich of Brooklyn; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Abel and Daryl Doty.
Dale was born Aug. 22, 1951, in Grinnell, the son of Glenn Ross Doty and Pearly Lucille Jewell Doty.
He was a wonderful grandfather and spent much of his time with his grandchildren, and being involved in their lives.
