Dale R. Cooling, 81, of Solon, died Monday, Feb. 12, 2018, at his home. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date. There will be a visitation from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Following the visitation, there will be a luncheon at Cedar Memorial Family Center.
Survivors include two sons, Kenneth of Solon and Daniel (Diana) of Houghton; a daughter, Linda; two stepdaughters, Julie Kuhlmann and Gina Sworsen; four brothers, Vernon, Lyle, Lloyd and Duane; one sister, Margaret; two former wives, Marie and Janice; and several grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and one sister.
Dale was born April 29, 1936, in Clemons, Iowa, the son of Eldon and Julia Borden Cooling. He was a millwright at Quaker Oats and retired from there after more than 45 year of service.
Dale was an avid fisherman and enjoyed traveling. He was an accomplished carpenter and enjoyed the time spent with his friends and beloved family. He will forever be remembered for being a wonderful father, grandfather, brother and friend whose memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
