Dale Walter Bishop, 82, passed away at Winslow House on Thursday, Jan. 5, 2017.
Dale was born to parents Walter and Mary-Leone (Dale) Bishop in November 1934, one of two children. Dale spent two years in the U.S. Army, then went on to work for the Cedar Rapids Water Department. He retired after 43 1/2 years there. In 1966, he married the love of his life, Mary (Oberfoell).
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister Nancy Brown in 2015.
He is survived by his wife, his son James, half brother Cliff Bishop, his godmother Mary Kay Krumm, and several nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at the Cedar Memorial Chapel Stateroom on Tuesday, Jan. 10, from 4 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorial donations in Dale's name may be made to American Diabetes Association or the local VFW.
