Dake, Rudy Laverne
Rudy Laverne Dake, 77, of Vinton, passed away peacefully and went to heaven on Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2014. Memorial Service: 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, at First Christian Church, Vinton, by Pastor Connie Wacht. The family will greet friends one hour before service time at the church on Saturday.
Rudy was born in rural Shellsburg, Iowa on Dec. 13, 1936, to the late Lewis and Ethel (Fuehrer) Dake.
He is survived by his son, Jim (Leann) Dake of Chanhassen, Minn.; daughter, Sharon (Trent) Eriksen of Hutchinson, Minn.; daughter, Carolyn Scolaro of Cedar Rapids; three grandsons, Adam Dake, Austin Dake and Tony Scolaro; four granddaughters, Krista DeVoll, Anna Eriksen, Rachel Eriksen and Sabrina Scolaro; brother, Ken (Dorothy) Dake; sisters, Janet Kearns and Bonnie (Butch) Schroeder; uncles, Mick Fuehrer and Jim Fuehrer; nieces, nephews and many friends.
Rudy was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, De Mont Dake.
