Dahnke, Dwayne 'Doc'
Dwayne “Doc” Dahnke, 82, of Coralville, died Friday, Sept. 10, 2010. In honor of Doc's wishes, no services are planned; his earthly remains have been cremated. Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service is caring for Doc's family and his arrangements.
Doc was born Feb. 25, 1928, in Iowa City, the son of George and Beulah (Henderson) Dahnke. He married Glenna Marie Reynolds on Dec. 30, 1949. The couple has lived their entire lives in this area; for many years Doc drove truck.
His family includes his son, Gary of Coralville; grandson, Scott and his fiance, Lisa Gorden, of Coralville; five great-grandchildren; and siblings, Betty Bartholomew of Iowa City, Delores Curtis, Diane Littrel and Jack Dahnke, all of Muscatine, and Virginia Poggenpohl of Iowa City.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brothers, Dale, Bill, Robert “Speed,” Lyle and Kenneth; and a sister, Ramona McCleary.
