Dahl, Jerry E.
Jerry E. Dahl, 82, of Oelwein, died Saturday afternoon, Jan. 5, 2013, at the Good Samaritan Nursing Center in West Union, surrounded by his family. Memorial Service:11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, at Zion Lutheran Church in Oelwein, with the Rev. Leo Combs-Lay officiating. Visitation:3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home in Oelwein and after 10 a.m. Thursday at the church. There will be a military memorial service at 7 p.m. Wednesday at funeral home by Ross Reid American Legion Post 9 Honor Guard. Inurnment will be at a later date.
Memorials may be given in his name to Zion Lutheran Church or the Williams Center, both in Oelwein.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marilyn Dahl of Oelwein; twodaughters, Tracy (Steve) Grasso of Johnstonand Melanie (John) McQuaig of Wenatchee, Wash.; four grandchildren, Alex (Kelsey) Grasso of Iowa City, Sam (Katherine) Grasso of Des Moines, and Marit and Gwen McQuaig, both of Wenatchee, Wash.; and a great-granddaughter, Julia Rose Grasso of Iowa City.
