D. Tillie Turner, 78, died Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2015, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 4, at West Liberty Com-munity Center. Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Liberty. Burial will be in Hazelwood Cemetery, Grinnell.
Memorials may be made to the Nichols First Responders or West Liberty Rescue Unit.

Darlene Matilda Freeborn was born July 9, 1937, in Montezuma, Iowa, the daughter of Loyd and Cora (Clinkenbeard) Freeborn. She was a graduate of Montezuma High School in the class of 1955. In 1957, she was united in marriage to Don Turner in Montezuma; they later divorced and remained friends.
Tillie had been employed at West Liberty Foods for 42 years. She enjoyed the outdoors, her dogs, horses, boating and camping, traveling abroad with a friend, sewing, cooking, dancing, and her frog collection.
She is survived by her two daughters, Kim Turner of Nichols and Karla Ehrler of Davenport; sister, Eloise Lender of Rockford, Ill.; and the father of her children, Don Turner of West Liberty.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Eugene and Russell Freeborn; sister, Virginia Blackwell; and a son-in-law, Steve Ehrler.
