Cynthia Anne Redington, 64, of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014, at home. Funeral Service: 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion by Pastor Lynn L'Abbe. The family will greet friends two hours before the service Friday at the funeral home. Burial: Oak Shade Cemetery in Marion.
Survivors include her children, Traci (Dean) Hepker of Grimes and Brian (Nicole) Redington of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Katie, Abbie, Patricia and William; her mother, Mary Schoop of Marion; two sisters, Jodi (Dave) Cahalan of Williamsburg and Chris (Jim) Meggers of Marion; special friends, Fred and Teresa Haumesser of Cedar Rapids; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, William "Bill" Schoop; and her husband, Ronald Redington.
Cynthia was born July 6, 1949, the daughter of William and Mary (Watters) Schoop in Bellevue, Iowa. On Nov. 22, 1969, she married Ronald Redington in Marion. She was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids. Cynthia loved spending time with her grandchildren, gardening, volunteering and the Iowa Hawkeyes.
A memorial fund has been established in Cynthia's memory.
