Cynthia Lynn Lee, 67, acquired her wings the evening of Oct. 4, 2023, at VA Hospital Jackson, MS. Born in Ottumwa, Iowa, July 17, 1956, to John and Beverly (Murrell) Carlisle; who preceded her in death. Cindy graduated from Jefferson High School, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, in 1974. She married Darrel Lee on Jan. 20, 1975, in Rock Island, Ill. They ran a Martial Arts studio after she proudly served over 17 years in the U.S. Army as a Master Supply Sargent, including a year of duty in Desert Storm. He passed in Oct 2014 of cancer.
She is survived by two sons, Casey and Shawanna Lee, David and Elizabeth Lee; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; siblings, Jeffrey Carlisle, Tina Achenbach, Brenda and Ron Daniels, all of Cedar Rapids, and sister Tamy Carlisle-Jones of Brandon, Miss.; sister in-law, Sandra Lessenger, Muscatine, Iowa; an uncle, James and Patricia Carlisle, Bloomfield, Iowa; tons of nieces/nephews and cousins, and quite a few friends she called family! Also her beloved furbabies and her service dogs.
