Cynthia L. Franck, 54, of Hopkinton, died Saturday, July 16, 2016, at her mother's home following a brief illness.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 20, at Hopkinton Community Church, where friends may call after 9:30 a.m. Interment will be in Oakwood Memorial Park Cemetery, Chatsworth, Calif., at a later date. Pastor Jan Lamont will officiate at the services. Goettsch Funeral Home has been entrusted with Cynthia's care and services.
Surviving are two sons, Craig Thomas and Chance Franck, both of Hopkinton; her mother, Sandra Dunlap of Hopkinton, her sister, Kathleen (Richard) Pohl of Granada Hills, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father; a sister, Debra; and her husband, Harry.
Cynthia Lynn Thomas was born Nov. 2, 1961, in San Diego, Calif., the daughter of Larry and Sandra Dunlap-Thomas. Cynthia graduated from Hollywood High School, Hollywood, Calif., and received an associate degree from Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids. Cynthia worked as a cashier at the Golden Gate and Horseshoe casinos in Las Vegas.
In 2007, she moved her family to Hopkinton, Iowa. She was employed as a cook at Mercy Medical Center, Dyersville. She married Harry Franck III on June 5, 1997.
