Cynthia "Cindy" Jo Marshek, 70, of Solon, passed away Friday, June 25, 2021, following a stroke at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics with her three children by her side. Celebration of life gathering will be 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 6, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Solon, located in the lower level (100 S. Cedar St., Solon, IA 52333. Private Inurnment will be in Oakland Cemetery.
Cindy was born Oct. 28, 1950, to Helen and Ed Babka. She was a graduate of Solon High School and was a proud longtime resident of Solon, Iowa. Cindy enjoyed working at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry for many years.
Cindy is survived by her children, Stacey (Jason) Lietz of Solon, Iowa, Lindsey (Nate) Button of Geneva, Switzerland, and Luke (Erin) Marshek of Denver, Colo.. Her favorite people in the world include grandchildren, Bailey, Kassidy and Kobi Lietz, Owen and Hayden Button and Olivia Marshek. She is also survived by her sister, Kaynelle Mikesh; several nieces and nephews; and extended family.
Cindy was preceded in death by her parents, Helen and Ed Babka; and brothers, Alan Kobi and Steve Babka.
Memorials may be directed to Solon Fire Department or Solon Food Pantry.
The family wishes to thank the Solon Fire Department/First Responders as well as the UIHC for their skills and professionalism.
